Hello there, I'm Annabel! Originally from Glasgow, I made the leap to Freiburg, Germany in 2001. I fell in love. With a Bachelor of Arts in Art & Design under my belt, my journey began in Interior Design. Later, I managed 'The Wolf's Hearth', an accommodation centre & workshop space in Aberdeenshire. However, my path soon led me to Community Arts, where I've immersed myself for over 30 years, teaching workshops and spearheading projects. I'm a firm believer in the power of creative expression for emotional development. From my earliest memories, I've found joy in art & making things, whether it's wielding a paintbrush, snapping photographs, or writing for my own well-being. In 2011, I stumbled upon a charming studio in Ebringen, and thus, Annabel's Kunst Atelier was born —a space where creativity knows no bounds. |

My Art Work
I specialise in creating captivating Textile Art Pieces, including Fabric Panels, Framed Pictures, Fabric Books, and Accessories. My creations are a fusion of various techniques, where I blend painting directly onto fabric, mono-printing, the use of stencils, and the art of Appliqué, Collage and Patchwork.
I also transfer my own photographs and writings into my pieces, creating stories. I love layering fabrics and cutting away parts, and layering again, kind of revealing and concealing elements. I sew my pieces together, either by hand or with my trusty vintage Pfaff sewing machine. These unique textile pieces are not just my passion but also available for sale. You can find my work exhibited at various venues and art markets, where I'm always thrilled to share my creative journey with others. |
