Textiles- Fabric Art

Course Description
Over six weeks you will learn about choosing & using colour plus sourcing design inspiration. You will design a textile piece (which is a design using fabrics) with the techniques of appliqué & collage.  I will also introduce you to some simple and fun methods of creating your own hand-decorated fabric using stamping and screen printing. The methods used are low-tech, making them easy to continue at home!   With your hand-decorated fabric you will sew a cushion cover, a table runner or a tote bag.

When: Thursday mornings from 10.00 am - 12.00 pm on 17th, 24th, 31st January and 7th, 21st and 28th February.

What to expect at the weekly sessions?
The course content is structured that it may vary according to group and individual needs. I  provide a supportive & social environment where you can experiment with different techniques. Hand and machine sewing will be included and taught.

Level:The course is suitable for beginners and more experienced sewers.

Cost:  85,50€ for six sessions, includes tuition & refreshments.  (It will be necessary to bring a sewing machine and a small selection of fabrics).
